And with that...

He's gone. It's been a little bit of a rough day around here. Batman leaving, compounded with Little Miss waking up at 2:30 makes for a very. long. day. Needless to say, we didn't make it to church this morning. And we've just been kind of lazy- reading books, napping, watching movies and se.same. str.eet. It doesn't really get any easier no matter how many times we have been through these separations. *sigh*

Last Minute Memories

We've been trying to spend as much time as we can with Batman this past week. He leaves in 3 days :(

We've been going to the park and watching movies and spending some Daddy/daughter time and *ahem* mommy/daddy time. We've taken lots of pictures (Get your mind out of the gutter! All from the park) and had lots of fun making some "last minute memories" that we can hold onto for the next 3 months.

I know we will have sky.pe and we (or maybe just me) will probably go and visit him at least once while he's gone, but we've needed some time to just hang out, just the 3 of us. I know I'm going to miss him a lot. I'm sure Brynna will have some realization that he's gone. I'm just hoping she kind of doesn't really understand.

It's left little time to blog, but I promise to be back next week. And I may even post some of the pics (Of the PARK!) ;-)

Oh and Happy St Patty's Day!

Almost forgot it was the day for green! Here's a couple pics of Little Miss from the park today in her green and pigtails :)
Happy St Patrick's Day!!

Fun times at the doctor's office

Well, Batman was still adamantly against having said IUD removed, so it remains in place.
However, yesterday's appt was quite the doozy.

First off, let me just say that Brynna is a really good kid. She doesn't throw tantrums when we are out in public (much...yet!) and she is pretty good at keeping herself occupied. Which she did while we were in the room, like usual. What kept her busy though was taking EVERY. DAMN. THING. out of the diaper bag. And then out of my wallet. So you can imagine the scene that the doc (who I have never met before) walks into when he comes in the room. Disaster everywhere. Nice first impression, eh? Thankfully, he has lots of moms that bring in their kiddos (or so he said) so he's seen just about everything.

Second, he couldn't find the strings. And so had to go "searching" for them. You can imagine how lovely this feels. Ya, it was great. Nothing like having a speculum inserted and taken out half a dozen times and then the doc fingering you 3 times in order to just FIND the damn things! Curse you Batman!

Third, he found a polyp while digging around in my nether regions. So obviously that had to be removed. Which means he had to leave the room for a few minutes to get additional hardware for removal. Which also means, out comes the speculum. again. And Brynna discovered the diaper bag. Again.

And of course, having to remove said polyp means he lost the location of the strings again. More digging, more fingering, more speculum in and out.

I promise this doc wasn't a complete moron. In fact, I'm surprised he ended up even finding the strings at all. Or being able to cut anything off of them. Because, you guys? They were literally less than a centimeter long.

I actually kind of liked this doc. I wouldn't be opposed to seeing him again if my own doc was unavailable.

I will NOT however be getting another IUD after this ones comes out.

Probably TMI

So, starting shortly after Christmas, Batman started complaining that my IUD string was "scraping" against him. He hadn't really complained about it up until that point, but for some reason or another, the string started to get irritating when we DTD. So like a good wife (who wanted to continue DTD with regularity), at my annual I had my doc take a look and he clipped the strings a bit (a lot) and all seemed right with the world.

Or so I thought.

Since said clipping, Batman has been "poked" pretty much every. time. Which means a couple of things- 1) there hasn't been as much lovin' going on and 2) when lovin' does take place, it ain't pretty... well, for Batman anyway.

So I set up an appt today to see what can be done (which btw is with another doc in the practice- mine didn't have an opening until April 15th). I'm not sure they can really clip the strings any shorter since they are already "all up in there" anyway. I can't imagine they want to clip them short enough to where they'd have to "dig" for them. Right?

If only I could convince Batman that we should just take the damn thing out! I mean, what's 10 days of unprotected TTC *ahem* I mean DTD, when we have a very low success rate of getting preggo in the last 6 years without any BC? Right? Right?

Anyway. I'll keep you posted. Hopefully, my nether regions and Batman's can come to a mutual understanding (a few times) before he leaves next week.

Not too shabby

I think they did pretty well, considering we have reworked that routine about a dozen times for various reasons...

I was pretty proud ;-) And to be honest, I kind of had a good time...

Let me know what you think! (please excuse my wobbly hand... I was a little nervous for them Ha!)

SPOID

Or as laymen know it: Special Olympics of Idaho

Yep, my kids are performing at the opening ceremonies of the state winter games. Kind of exciting for them. Especially since nearly half of them have an emphasis in special needs in their respective major.

We head up Friday morning, perform Friday night, and come home Saturday afternoon. I'm getting kind of excited myself. Too bad I have to wrangle all 10 (yes, I've lost or "fired" 9 of them since the beginning of the season) of them by. my. self. Sadly, the advisor, who was going to come along, dad passed away last week. The funeral is today.

I will post a video when I get back :) I think they will do great though! Wish us luck!

18 days and counting

Batman leaves for tdy in 18 days.

He will be gone until July 1.

I'm already dreading the next 3 months.

Gah! Sometimes I really hate the military.

At least there's sk.ype?

And I think B and I may go and visit him near the halfway point (which just happens be around our 7 yr anniversary... on second thought, maybe I should leave B home with grandpa and grandma?)

It already sucks and he isn't even gone yet :(

Wednesday {thursday} weigh in

Well, it wasn't a complete bust of a week! I was a little worried since we had family in town for 3 birthdays this last weekend. My nephew turned 1 last week! And Batman's older grandma turned 95! And next week my other nephew turns 7! Oh my! There was enough cake and ice cream to feed an army! I only had very small slices and no ice cream ;-)

Weight loss/ gain: -1 woot woot! It's a miracle!
Skinny Jeans: Up past my knees, but not much farther. I still have a long way to go, but I will get there dang it!

Yesterday's work out was a bust as Brynna was super sick :( Poor kiddo had a rough night, then woke up with a fever (which being the bad mom I am, didn't check until AFTER we had gone grocery shopping) and ended up taking a 3 hour nap... ON ME! She wouldn't sleep in her crib last night either so she ended up in our bed for a few hours, then was up at 4 this morning. She and I ended up sleeping on the couch a bit this morning after Batman went to work and she seems to be feeling better. Well, at least she's eating and drinking today!

So plan this week- keep eating well and continue with p90. I'm making up for yesterday by doing weights and cardio today, but I think I'm going to skip yoga (which should be today) this week and do it next week (it's my least favorite of the work outs... yes, I will do plyo ANY day over yoga!).

Anywho... Brynna's taking a nap which means I need to get moving ;-)

ETA: workout for today... check and check ;-)

16 months!

Little Miss Brynna hit 16 months last week!

Once again, time is just flying by! Before you know it this kid will be 18 months! Can't I just stop the clock for a little while?

So here's the stats that I (sort of) know:

We weighed her yesterday on our home scale (that may or may not be off by a pound or more?). With clothes on she weighed 23lbs. No idea how tall she is, but we may measure her again this week on our trusty "wall of growth." (You know the kind- you mark your kid's height and write a date next to it? Am I the only crazy one?)

She's STILL in most 9 month shirts, but the pants are too short now. All of her 12 month stuff fits well and we've added in a couple outfits (since they are so darn CUTE) that are 18 months- these are HUGE though.
Still in size 3 when we use 'sposies although we are using less and less of them these days. I'm trying to find ways to cut back our grocery bill even more so I'm only letting myself buy one pack every other month (I think 31 comes in a pack of pa.mper cru.isers?). We really only use them if we know we will be out longer than a few hours or if she is going over to my IL for the afternoon, so this shouldn't be too hard.

She seems to have graduated to a size 5 shoe, according to the shoe saleslady. HOWEVER, we have a number of size 4 shoes that still fit her with room, and all the 5's we have seem to be huge on her, so I don't know what this lady was smoking, but whatev. The kid has plenty (and I do mean PLENTY) of shoes to get her through the rest of this year and beyond. We pulled down a couple of "big clothes" tubs and found a plethora of shoes my SIL sent to me when we found out B was a girl. She did get a cute pair of ped.i.peds from my IL for Vday though- Uber cute brown ones with polka dots like this pair... actually those are them Ha! Too bad the store she got them from is going out of business :( because they had the CUTEST pair of Ke.en sandals
that I would LOVE to get for her. And this pair of boot like shoes by jum.pingj.ack. And these cute tennis shoes by see.kai.run But I digress...

She is starting to say a couple more words, although I'm a little more worried that she doesn't have a big vocabulary. Here's a list of what we've heard her say recently:
Mama, Dadda, Dog, Duck, Socks, Baby, Uh Oh, Ball, Book, Ni-night
I think there may be more, but I can't think of them right know. She understands A TON just doesn't verbalize a lot yet.

She is signing more and more. This month we added please and thank you (although thank you doesn't happen nearly as much as please LOL).

She still has a bottle of rice milk before bed, but lately she only drinks about 3/4 of it (we usually give her about 6 oz) so I may cut back to 4 oz and see if we can start weaning her off the bottle.

Her favorite meal these days seems to be stuffed peppers- we make ours with "fake" meat crumbles by morningstar and rice and onions- it's a pretty basic recipe from the bet.ty cro.cker cookbook and we all lurv it! She also loves any kind of fruit, especially blackberries! She has become a bit of a picky eater, but usually I can get her to try a bite or two of whatever we've made.

On top of "twirling" all the time she has learned to do somersaults (with help) and tries to stand on her head constantly! I'm more and more convinced we need to get her into a little gym type program- screw the swim lessons ;-)

Her sleep has changed a bit. I think she may becoming a morning person, which is not really fun for me Ha! She goes to bed at 7 after bath, jammies, book and bottle (and an anime with Batman if I'm gone) and sleeps until about 6. Some weeks it's been 4:30 or 5 though and that is just NOT OKAY with this mama! The nice thing is, she wakes up happy, talking to herself and playing with her el.mo and glow worm.

As you saw in my recent post, she transitioned to a "big girl" car seat. She seems to like it well enough. I think she can see a little bit more (she is still rear facing and will remain so until at least 2- I would rather it be 4ish but Batman and I made a compromise of 2 yrs old).

And I can't think of anything else... no new teeth and she's still pretty bald on top like a little old man ;-)
Here are a few snapshots from the last month:

Enjoying a "sample" from Fred.Meye.r (I think Kro.ger for those of you not from the NW?)- pumpkin chocolate chip cookies! Dipped in chocolate!

Sporting the new sweater that one of the guys out at the base (works with Batman) made for her- and yes I said GUY! (this was his first attempt at crocheting btw- I kind of hate him lol) ;-)

Getting into my makeup. At least she isn't trying to put it on at this point. She just enjoys taking everything out and putting it back in the drawer.

Feeding her bottle to her baby- it's time we make a trip to the $store and get her some "doll" size bottles, don't you think?

And another one at the park on the swing- she LOVES to swing :)

Let's try this again

Once again Plyo kicked my a$$! Yikes!

I'm back on the p.90.x workout train again. Woo Woo!

Days 1 and 2 down... only 88 to go! I'm determined to make it this time. All. The. Way.

If you could all keep me accountable once in a while and ask how my workouts are coming, I would really appreciate it.

I need to get my lazy self in gear!
