Nursery progress

We've made a tiny bit of headway on little man's nursery over the last couple weekends. I wasn't going to post about it until it was done, but since it's taking me longer than I thought (thanks to my typical procrastinating nature) I figured I should post updates on things as I get them done- If only to make myself feel like things are actually getting accomplished Lol
Last weekend, as stated, we got the room painted. It's basically the same as B's room (which you can see here) only the green is now gray (love <3 love!) and we painted over the verse on the wall near the crib (I'm still looking for a good verse for this little guy... Maybe from psalms 139?)

Batman and his friend also installed a fan where B's chandelier was (and yes, I did take down that awful green valance and moved the black and white curtains to B's big girl room).
This week and weekend I got all his clothes washed (btw the child has quite a few onesies and NO pants... Time for more garage sales?) and put away and started on his bedding.
Just as I did with Brynna, I fell in love with something I saw online and of course can't get (this time it wasn't a price issue... It was a homemade issue lol) so I've been making this little guy's nursery bedding too. Tonight I finally finished the crib skirt and started on the bumper (*gasp* I know I'm a terrible mother because I put bumpers in the crib!). Thankfully this time around my wonderful SIL (the one married to my bro, not the ones on Batman's side) is crocheting a coverlet for little man in the colors of his room (gray, red and blue) which means one less item to make myself :) I can't wait to see how it turns out!

(crib skirt)

I also got into the crocheting mood myself this week and whipped up a little hat for him. I'm not a huge fan of the generic hospital ones so I figured I'd make him some cute ones for our short stay.

So, some things checked off the never ending list, lots still left to do ;)

A big girl room!

As much as this mom *really* wanted to decorate B's new big girl room with all my pinterest inspirations, I got out voted. Instead we went with hot pink, light pink, black and a little bit of Minnie. But my girl is SUPER happy and that's what matters, right?

Here are some pics of how it's coming along so far. It still needs a few touches, like pictures and things on the walls and some nic-nacs, but it's turning out better than I thought it would

32 weeks!

D day is getting closer and closer. Thankfully, this last week we've finally been getting some things marked off our checklist (hence my being MIA once again) ;-) I'll update with a few picture posts over this week :) PROMISE!

But here's the new preggo update and pics:

Belly #2
(the first was taken on time, but with no makeup and my hair looking *spectacular* plus it was SO hot and I was SO puffy I knew it had to be retaken- the second was a few days later when I actually looked decent... and yes my a$$ now is about the same size as my belly *tears*... I will FIX that once little man is here!)

And for comparison Belly #1
I was carrying B much, much lower IMO

Pregnancy HighlightsHow Far Along: 32 weeks

Size of baby: Baby #2 is about 16.7 in long (about the size of a large jicama) and weighs about 3.75 lbs

Total Weight Gain/Loss: I didn't actually look at the scale at my most recent appt, but my doc assured me that I'm hovering right around the 30 lb mark (I've decided to forgo my at home weigh ins for a bit because it's just depressing these days). He says I'm doing well and that I will probably end right between 35-40 lbs total. And I'm okay with that.

Clothes: Maternity... and sadly I had to go up a size since my ass has taken on astronomical proportions (as you can see in the above pictures)

Gender: Still a  boy... still without a name

Movement: All the time, but we did decide he is definetly head down (or at least he was last Monday) at my appt. Fingers crossed he stays that way

Sleep: Sticking with the unisom... I can DEFINITELY tell the nights I randomly forget to take it :(

What I miss: Breathing. Little man is up so high, I'm out of breath doing pretty much ANYTHING. Cute clothes... someday I'll fit into them again.

Cravings: Not really anything that stands out. We've been working really hard at sticking to the "skinny rules" although I've broken down and had ice cream a couple times... but in modest portions ;-)
Symptoms: Heartburn any time I eat tomato based foods or go too long without eating.

Moment this week:Another moment of slight panic when my doc said something to the effect of "just think- we could be meeting this little guy in as little as 4+ weeks." WTF?! AHH!

What I'm looking forward to: Getting everything done so I can stop stressing about baby's impending arrival. We are getting there.

Milestones: As stated last update- I passed the GD test with "flying colors" as well as the iron test. Less to worry about ;-)

More updates up coming!

What I'm reading

In light of the fact that batman has gained a bit of weight back over the last year, and that I am going to need to lose baby weight here in a couple months, weve been looking for a new book to help us get there that keeps in line with our eating "values" (aka doesn't have to be heavy in animal protein). And we found one!!

The skinny rules! By Bob Harper from biggest loser :)

It's been great so far, outlining 20 basic rules for helping you lose weight and maintaining it. And it's all stuff that's fairly easy to follow like "drink a large glass of water before every meal. No exceptions" and "eat berries and an apple every day. Every. Single. Day" see? Not hard ;) we are only on our first week following it (obviously I'm adding in extra snacks since I'm not actually trying to LOSE weight, just trying to eat more healthy and support batman) and we already are feeling better!

And so far every recipe we've tried is pretty tasty, which is a big change from a lot of diets. And the book is FILLED with them!

If you're needing a diet makeover or just needing some new healthy recipes, I recommend it!

(obviously I'm not getting paid to tell you any of this... Just really liking the book and the rules) ;)

An impromptu photo shoot

Batman decided to play photographer the other day with our fancy schmancy camera and took some maternity photos :) I have a feeling we will be doing a few more before too long, since we had fun! Here are a few of my faves from this batch:

30 weeks!

Yup, I've made it to 30 weeks (okay today officially marks week 31, but whatevs) and we are now starting to really feel the time crunch. Call it nesting, call it reality... we have a LOT to do before little man arrives. But I'll get to all that another day ;-)

So here goes:

 Belly #2
Belly #1

Pregnancy Highlights
How Far Along: 30 weeks

Size of baby: Baby #2 is about 15.7 in long (about the size of a normal cabbage) and weighs about 2.75lbs.

Total Weight Gain/Loss: Well at my last appt I was up another 7 lbs (YIKES!) which put me overall at 24 lbs. I kinda wanted to stay around the 25 lbs mark total, but it looks like that isn't going to happen. However in the last couple weeks I've only gained 1 lb per my scale so I think if I can keep this up I'll stick close to the 35ish mark, which I'm completely okay with! I'm NOT okay with gaining 50 like I did with B

Clothes: Maternity, maternity... I did try on some pre preggo pants the other day and my butt still fit into them, so yay for small miracles ;-)

Gender: All boy... who still (STILL) remains nameless

Movement: Lots of movement and I'm starting to think that he may be transverse breech based on where I feel a TON of movement ... either side of my belly, but little near the top or bottom. I guess we will see at my next appt on the 16th. I'm probably just paranoid!

Sleep: It takes either half a unisom or 2 benadryl... still

What I miss: Being able to exercisemore than a few minutes at a time. These days I've fallen to only doing about 5-10 minutes at a time (a couple times a day) and I wish I could just stick it out for at least a half hour!

Cravings: Sweet stuff.

Symptoms: Heartburn seems to be rearing its ugly head again, just like with B.

Moment this week: Panic when I realized we don't have a whole lot of time before Little Man makes his appearance. Oh, but I did score some major garage sale deals on clothes. He will at least have a few outfits to wear the first weeks of his life ;-)

What I'm looking forward to: Still September! And my next appt- after that we start going every 2 weeks if you can believe it! Scary :)

Milestones: Passed the GD test (or so I assume since they didn't call) and apparently don't have any iron issues this time around either. I declare both small victories :D

More pics tomorrow!
