U/S Update

Hello all! Sorry for the long wait. It's been a bit of a busy day and silly me forgot my phone at home. I have been a wreck without it!

But all is well! Everything is measuring perfectly (to the day in fact) and is in the right places. 2 arms, 2 legs, heart beating, blood pumping, kidneys, liver, gallbladder, etc. All the essentials are there and in in working order.

We were completely taken by surprise because we are:

TEAM BLUE

Honestly, none of us saw that coming at all. Just about everyone around us (ourselves included) was convinced we were having another girl.

And while I'm not disappointed by any means, it will take a day or two to wrap my head around a baby boy. I was just SO SURE it was a little sister in there. Brynna has already decided on a name for her baby brother, however, since it's the same name that our good friends just named their little boy 3 weeks ago... probably a no go ;-)

I haven't had time to scan in our u/s pics, but will try to post them soon, as well as a 20 pic and update :)

Thanks all for the encouraging words!

For Lauren: Every u/s for me is hard until I know things are okay. About 8 years ago we found out at our 20 week ultrasound that our son would not survive due to chromosomal abnormalities. Besides the day I had to deliver him stillborn, that u/s was one of the hardest days of my life.

woot hoot for a little brother!! B will be right around 3 when he is born right? K just turned 3 and we are due now. She gets it a lot more than i expected.
so glad your US. went well. Honestly i never knew of your back history other than MC's. My heart breaks for you.

K has named our baby Jack, which is a fine name. however we know at least 6 jacks that are NB -1yr old....so nope!

I had no idea you had gone through that! I can totally understand your fear, then. I'm so sorry you had to go through that:( Just to be clear, I didn't mean for my comment to sound insensitive in any way (I hope it didn't). I just thought I probably wasn't fully understanding the situation, since your fear sounded a lot greater than the nervousness many of us experience before an ultrasound. I understand it now.

Congratulations on having a healthy baby boy in there! That's so exciting. I just love baby boys!:)

WOO-HOO!!! Happy you're little man is doing great =) I thought K was a boy and was surprised when we were told she was a girl. I wasn't convinced though so it only took a couple hours to sink in. I totally understand that it can take some time. Brynna will love having a baby brother!

Yay! Congrats on your little BOY! I'm so happy everything is in working order. At my u/s with Gehrig I was shaking in fear because 2 of our really good friends got bad news at their 20 week u/s a few months before us. The fact that you experienced that personally, I understand the fear.
I'm glad all is well and I'm excited to see his cute little face!
