Emailed updates

I received this in my email today:

I won't ACTUALLY be 9 weeks until Monday, I think, but why do they feel the need to compare baby to food. That I eat. All. The. Time.
Last week it was a raspberry- I had just finished off a flat of raspberries. The week before it was a blueberry- again I had been eating blueberries for DAYS. And this week it's an olive. A green olive. I was chowing down on the last of our green olive stash earlier this week.

Does this creep anyone else out? Somehow I feel like I am EATING my baby!! Kind of gross if you think about it that way...

Hehehe... I think you should call your baby Olive. Screw names like "peanut" and "bean"... You've got an Olive!

Wait until it's gets to things like a melon. When my husband asked me that he got a really nervous look on his face and was like what size melon like a watermelon?

Ahh, you haven't made it to the "kumquat" milestone yet - that was perhaps my favorite. ;-)

I remember when my email update once said that my baby was the size of a mango - I had been eating mangoes for weeks, so yeah - I was a bit creeped out by it.

Not sure why there are always food references though. I'd much rather hear, "Your baby is now the size of a golf ball or tennis ball or [insert some other non-edible object]."

i've been looking for this. Do you remember where you signed up to be on that email list? Is it from the bump or where?

Thanks and YAH for the olive!

Luckily I have avoided the food/fetus comparison. It just doesn't sound right.

Thankfully our current nickname is just plain, "stickie" which has no edible comparison. :)
