In the meantime

Still working on the ol' blog. While you wait, go check out batmans blog (fatman-fit.blogspot.com) and see his weekly weigh in. I know he'd love some feedback.

A little blog clean up

So I think I need a little makeover over here... many of the blogs on the right are people who are no longer posting or deleted blogs. I need a little revamp, don't you think?

Plus the pics in the banner are way outdated. B was 6 months old! How did 2+ years go by without me noticing?

So... in an effort to get things redone, leave me a comment so I can put you on my list of "to read blogs" (I LOVE reading blogs) or if you know of a blog I should be reading, leave that too! Or if you just want to say "hi" you can do that too! Hopefully, I can figure out how to make some changes and have it look okay in the end ;-) Wish me luck!

20 weeks

Once again a week late... one of these days I'll get it right ;-)

On to the update! Here's the comparison shots at 20 weeks. I forgot again to take a bare belly pic with the camera so there's a crappy one with my phone too ;-)

(see? extremely crappy... and don't mind that I'm in pajamas) ;-)
Pregnancy Highlights
How Far Along: 20 weeks

Size of baby: Baby #2 is about 10 inlong (about the size of a carrot) and weighs about 12 oz. (eek! half a pound!) - although we know Baby #2 was estimated at 14 oz from our u/s

Total Weight Gain/Loss: I show I'm 10 lbs overall still. According to the doc I'm up 12. Eh. It is what it is. I'm definitely doing better this time around so that's all that matters to me. And I think my ass is in MUCH better shape this time around, which is more of what matters ;-) HA!

Clothes: Maternity all the way! I need to invest in a new swimsuit soon too... anyone know where I can get one for a good deal?

Gender: Team BLUE! Although I was thrown for a loop, I'm starting to warm up to the idea!

Movement: More each day! I found out that I have an anterior placenta, making it harder to feel as much as I did with B. Knowing that has really helped ease some of my fears.

Sleep: unisom... every night...

What I miss: One of my cute tshirts that no longer fits. Being able to chase B around the playground without being so out of breath!

Cravings: Chinese food... didn't get any though

Symptoms: um... a giant belly?

Moment this week: See above

What I'm looking forward to: Next Dr appt so I can hear this little man again :)

Milestones: Found out it's a BOY!

Pictures of B!

As promised (to you and myself) I've finally gotten  around to getting some pictures together of B from the last 6 months. Here is just the first of many picture posts ;-)

From our recent community easter egg hunt

Random ones from the last 6 months

I'm going to try and post a collage once a week... wish me luck? I really need to keep better track of all that goes on in this stinker's life.

A New Venture

Thanks so much for the sweet comments. I'm starting to get excited at the prospect of a little man in our house, it just threw me for a loop. Picking out a name will be an adventure for sure :)

For those of you who enjoyed reading Batman's old blog (when he posted every blue moon), he's decided to start a new venture and a new blog! Go check it out! I think you'll enjoy reading his antics :)

U/S Update

Hello all! Sorry for the long wait. It's been a bit of a busy day and silly me forgot my phone at home. I have been a wreck without it!

But all is well! Everything is measuring perfectly (to the day in fact) and is in the right places. 2 arms, 2 legs, heart beating, blood pumping, kidneys, liver, gallbladder, etc. All the essentials are there and in in working order.

We were completely taken by surprise because we are:

TEAM BLUE

Honestly, none of us saw that coming at all. Just about everyone around us (ourselves included) was convinced we were having another girl.

And while I'm not disappointed by any means, it will take a day or two to wrap my head around a baby boy. I was just SO SURE it was a little sister in there. Brynna has already decided on a name for her baby brother, however, since it's the same name that our good friends just named their little boy 3 weeks ago... probably a no go ;-)

I haven't had time to scan in our u/s pics, but will try to post them soon, as well as a 20 pic and update :)

Thanks all for the encouraging words!

For Lauren: Every u/s for me is hard until I know things are okay. About 8 years ago we found out at our 20 week ultrasound that our son would not survive due to chromosomal abnormalities. Besides the day I had to deliver him stillborn, that u/s was one of the hardest days of my life.

Today is the day!

Big u/s at 12:30.

I'm kinda scared sh*tless.

Wish us luck :)

Keeping myself busy

Monday seems like an eternity away! I realize it's only a couple days, but goodness these days are taking forever!!

And to be honest I'm quite anxious for the u/s just like I was for B's. So I' m trying to keep myself busy. And so I've been crafting!

I made B this sweet little dress today/tonight and she is SO excited to wear it tomorrow! She picked out the fabric from my meager stash this afternoon and I got to work.

Now what to do with myself tomorrow??

A quick pt update: we are almost there!! B only had one accident today which was bm and managed to tell us when she needed to pee!! (shes in diapers at nap and bed time still... Not sure how to get pt With those... Although most naps she wakes up dry) I'm SO proud of her! And I won't lie... On Thursday I honestly was ready to give up and try in a month. But we persevered and she's been doing great the last couple days :)

Whew! Day #3

I was so ready to give up yesterday, chalking it up to B not being ready.

But then she pooped in the potty.

And then last night she emptied her bladder in it too!

Things are looking up!

We are starting a new approach too, using the Potty Training 1-2-3 principles. They make sense ans sound easy enough. Hopefully, they work as well as everyone says they do.

Onward to day #3

Forgot to mention...

Yesterday marked the official halfway point! 20 weeks!

Pics and update to come as soon as Batman gets home from GA and can take a pic. Hopefully in the next couple days :)

And u/s on Monday! Yippee!

On to Day #2

Well, yesterday wasn't a complete wash. In the evening, B finally peed ONCE on the potty. To be honest, I kind of think it was a mistake and not a concerted effort to potty, but I'll take what I can get.

Here we go with day #2. People keep telling me today will be better.

Gosh, I hope they're right!

Wish us luck!

With Batman out of town this week at a conference, we are DETERMINED to work on this potty training thing!

So far, one accident this morning :( But try, try again right? We are going for the "panties only" approach. No pull ups. No clothes.

I've got her on a "try every 30 min" schedule so far. Other than that, I need any advice that worked from BTDT mamas!

Wish us luck! I think it's going to be a very long few days!

18 weeks

I'm only almost 2 weeks late on this one... ugh! Hopefully my 20 week update will be on time.

Here we go:

first is baby bump #2 and second is bump #1 with Brynna
(once again my bump with B is blurry... must be because my camera sucked back then.) I think I'm definitely bigger this go 'round. Thoughts? If I can remember I'll do a bare belly pic (albeit properly "photoshopped) with my next update so I can compare a little better.

Pregnancy Highlights

How Far Along: 18 weeks, 5 days ( again when the pic was taken... today I'm actually 19 wks 4days)

Size of baby: Baby #2 is about 6 in long (about the size of a heirloom tomato) and weighs about 8.5 oz. (eek! half a pound!)

Total Weight Gain/Loss: I show I'm up almost 10 lbs overall. I really need to go back to healthy eating. The last couple weeks have been a total bust with Easter and then a crazy week.

Clothes: Maternity-I totally forgot to mention that one of the ladies that offered me her clothes really sent them! It was like Christmas getting such a fun package! And she has super cute taste :) I've already worn just about everything she sent at least one!

Gender: Soon! Appt is on the 23rd! I hope this week goes by super fast because I am ready to KNOW!

Movement: Still feeling movement, somedays more than others. This one seems to be pretty active in the morning and evenings.

Sleep: I've taken my doc's advice and been taking half a tab of uni.som (or the walg.reens version) just about every night. I do find I really DON'T sleep when I don't take it. :(

What I miss: Still missing a good cold cut sandwich.

Cravings: Not really any I can think of in the last few weeks. Then again, my house has been filled with candy so if I get the urge, I indulge in a small piece (or 6).

Symptoms: Itchies seem to have gone away for now. I never did try Ben.adryl though. For some reason my sniffer is in high gear and just smelling the trash can put me into dry heave mode. Not sure what that's all about?

Moment this week: Feeling more consistent movement. It's helped me get passt some of my anxiety.

What I'm looking forward to: April 23rd

Milestones: Less than 150 days!

Happy Easter!

He is risen!

Hope everyone has a great day!

A Brynna Update

Now that she's 2.5, I figure I'm due for a Brynna update! I don't think I've done one of these since she turned 2, so it's about time, right?

So here's what's up with her:

She's currently 33.5 in tall and weighs 27 lbs (10% and 25% respectively) She's still in 2T in just about everything. We can get away with 18 mo dresses if we put some leggings underneath, which we do a lot for church. She's still in size 4 dipes when we just disposables.

And along that line, potty training is going nowhere. I *think* she'll be ready in a couple months as she has started now taking off her diaper almost anytime she is wet. Poo is still a mystery to me. She can sit in a poopy diaper indefinitely if I didn't smell it first. I'm hoping as the weather starts to get warmer, we can be outside more and I can just let her run around naked in the yard.

She's such her own little person now! She's got quite the personality which people comment on all the time- usually with the word "firecracker." I'm not sure if that's supposed to be good or bad? LOL

She's definitely a 2 yr old, with full on whining and tantrums when she is frustrated or doesn't get her way. We've really been trying to curb these when we can, but I think it's just part of being 2 (or so people tell me).

Her favorite thing is to sing! Which means she does it all day long ;-) Anytime we are in the car she instists on "her songs" so she can sing- we have a CD that she got for Christmas that has lots of kid songs like "If You're Happy and You Know It," "B-I-N-G-O," "Oh Susannah," and "Campdown Races." I hardly ever get to listen to my country station anymore :( It's okay though. I'll take it to hear her sweet voice chiming in on the "doo dahs" ;-) Her favorite songs by far (although not on her CD) are "Twinkle Twinkle," "Jesus Loves Me," and "ABC's."

She LOVES to talk. Or maybe she's just a girl? LOL She is a non stop stream of words from the time she gets up, until the time she sleeps. Which includes her talking herself to sleep! Tell my why I was ever worried about her vocabulary? I was crazy! As I said above. She's her own person and speaks pretty clearly (aka- most people can understand most of what she's saying) although we do have to clarify on occasion.

She knows most of her letters by sight, but we are still working on number recognition. She can count to 13, but needs a little help getting to 20. She loves to count things though so I think I just need to up the amount lol.

Her favorite day of the week is Wednesday, which library day. One of the local libraries does a "music and movement" class where they sing and dance and read stories and at the end they hand out blocks and bubbles for free play. We were meeting a friend there every week, but he's now in preschool. She LOVES it though and looks forward to it!

She LOVES her daddy :) Every night when he comes home she gets a big grin on her face when he walks in the door and (usually) gives him a big hug. Then follows him around until he locks her out of the bathroom. And usually bangs on the door until he gets out ;-)

Speaking of locking her out, she has long since figured out how to open all the doors in the house except the front and back door (thank goodness!). Unfortunately this means that if she wakes up in the middle of the night she opens and shuts her door until we come and see what she needs. It's lovely.

And that's all I can think of... I'll do a picture dump in the next post if I can figure out how to do a collage ;-)

16 weeks

I'm only like a week late, right? Better late than never? Right?

So here we go. At this point I finally have consistent pics to compare to. So here's me at 16 wks 4dys with #2 and 16wks?dys with B:

It's a little blurry and I'm not sure why this is the only week I was standing the opposite way, but whatever. I'm definitely bigger this time around.

Pregnancy Highlights

How Far Along: 16 weeks, 4 days (based on the pic above... today I'm actually 17 wks 3days)

Size of baby: Baby #2 is about 4.6 in long (about the size of an avocado) and weighs about 3.5 oz.

Total Weight Gain/Loss: I'm still only up 6 lbs according to my scale. My appt last Monday I was up an additional 1.5lbs since my last appt, so by their calculations I'm up 8.5. Still sticking with my scale though ;-)

Clothes: Maternity- and I'll tell you a cute, funny story. For those of you that aren't friends with me on FB, I posted a tongue-in-cheek status a couple weeks ago asking someone to just give me their old maternity clothes since I don't really want to go out and buy a bunch of new stuff. Much to my surprise some lovely ladies took me seriuosly and offered me their maternity wardrobes. Isn't that just the nicest thing ever?! I'm not sure if they were serious or not, but to be honest, I don't care. They were just the SWEETEST offers ever! And totally made my whole week that someone would even offer :)

Gender: It's coming up quick! Only 3 weeks from tomorrow (sorry I switched to my current week) ;-) For some reason I'm leaning more and more towards girl, but I think a big part of that is because I secretly am hoping for one? But I would LOVE to have a boy equally as much!

Movement: Definitely feeling movement for sure, although there have been a few days of freak outs where I didn't feel like I felt any. I know that movement can be a bit sporadic this early, so I'm really *trying* to keep my anxiety in check.

Sleep: Pretty much non existent unless I take half a uni.som which my doc recommended. He also suggested bena.dryl, but sometimes that has the opposite effect, so I've kind of been afraid to try that. Even though I think it would help with the itchies.

What I miss: Sleep :( lunch meat (on the few occasions that I actually eat a ham sandwich)

Cravings: Still on the sweet stuff. It's being appeased a bit by 40 calorie fudgesicles ;-) Much better than half a dozen cookies or 3 slices of cake!

Symptoms: Feeling more energetic and my workouts seem to be getting easier for now. The itchiness is driving me. insane. seriously. Which is why I'd like to try the bena.dryl my doc suggested. But I'm afraid it will lead to even less sleep than I am currently getting.

Moment this week: Doc appt! Hearing the HB again (150) and knowing all is still looking well :)

What I'm looking forward to: April 23rd

Milestones: Movement! Finally looking preggo instead of just a little chunky. I actually had a couple people (who didn't know I was preggo) ask when I was due (dangerous, I know... part of me was REALLY tempted to tell them I wasn't LOL)! It was kind of nice knowing I look at least like I could be gestating.

Sorry the update's a bit late. It's been a little crazy around our house once again. And I've been a bit lazy on the computer checking/ updating. More to come this week!
