Tagged

I've been tagged... by a couple of you :)
First, Christina tagged me with this one:

"The blogger who receives this award believes in the Tao of the zombie chicken - excellence, grace and persistence in all situations, even in the midst of a zombie apocalypse. These amazing bloggers regularly produce content so remarkable that their readers would brave a raving pack of zombie chickens just to be able to read their inspiring words. As a recipient of this world-renowned award, you now have the task of passing it on to at least 5 other worthy bloggers. Do not risk the wrath of the zombie chickens by choosing unwisely or not choosing at all…"

Thanks Christina!

I think just about everyone I read has already done this one... but if you haven't consider yourself officially tagged

And Morgan tagged me with the 8X8

Terrible blogger alert

So as it turns out, I've been a terrible blogger lately. But I do have a good excuse. I have been bombarded at work with trying to play catch up AND do all the normal day-to-day work that needs to get done. It's been pretty overwhelming...
So I apologize. I've been trying to catch up on all my blog reading too, but haven't been commenting much. Please don't be offended. I'll probably be back in the swing of things by next week. Rest assured that I AM reading :)

I took another belly pic this morning (or rather Batman did- hence the blurriness- He wasn't quite awake yet) Here's me at 16wks:
16wks

It's definitely getting bigger. Although I still think I just look kind of fat at this point. (Doesn't everyone though at some point in their pregnancy?)

Here's a few albums from my trip too. I'm too busy to really go into much explanation (sorry- I'll get better- promise). All of these are out of my ghetto camera (hence the lack of quality). The best ones though are still on my mom's (I used hers more than mine) so hopefully I will get those ones soon too and can share :)
here ones from Arlington: http://s243.photobucket.com/albums/ff90/tiffwalk/Arlington%20Cemetary which I think was one of my FAVORITE places that we went. (Is that weird?)
These are ones from a couple Smithsonians (American History and Natural History): http://s243.photobucket.com/albums/ff90/tiffwalk/Smithsonian
These are a few from some memorials- Lincoln, Vietnam and Korean- I do wish we could have seen the Korean Memorial during the day because there isn't great lighting so it was hard to really see. I tried to get some pics anyway though:
http://s243.photobucket.com/albums/ff90/tiffwalk/Memorials
And last are a few pics from a restaraunt in Alexandria we went to- Gadsby's. The food was decent, but it was more about the history than anything- our first 5 presidents were known to frequent it: http://s243.photobucket.com/albums/ff90/tiffwalk/Gadsbys

I don't think there are a ton of pics with me in them, maybe a couple here and there. Let me know what you think :)
I'll really try to be better as things get settled!

I'm back!

Just a quick update, since I have so much work to get done- but my trip was FANTASTIC! We saw so much I don't know if I really absorbed everything, so I may have to go back in a couple years ;-) I was sick (as in flu- puking my guts out every 30 min or so) one day, but I was a trooper and still managed to get in all the days sight-seeing :) I'll post pics as soon as I upload them all (although I don't think you'll want to see all 600 of them so I'll just pic a few to post).

My appt yesterday went great as well! Olive is "sounding" great with a strong h/b (that still sounds "girlish" according to my doc) and I gained 3lbs. Sorry I missed the belly pic last week since I was gone, but I guess that means there will be more change by next week? ;-)

Hope everyone had a great week! I can't wait to catch up with you all!

Leaving on a jet plane

I'll probably be pretty MIA over the next 9 days as tomorrow I head out for Sea-town and then Monday I am off to DC for a week :) I've been looking forward to this trip for over a year and I can't tell you all how excited I am to finally be going!! I'll try to update if I can, but if you don't hear from me, don't think anything is wrong. (BTW- does any BTDT have any suggestions for the long plane ride? Everything I read says I should get up and walk around every hour or so, but if my seat is not on an aisle, that won't exactly be feasible. And what is the best way to navigate the bathroom? I HATE (as in loathe with all my being) airplane restrooms... any and all advice will be heeded with a completely open mind)

Batman is staying home. For once it's me traveling and him getting left behind. Woot! I know he is looking forward to being home by himself almost as much as I am to being gone LOL He doesn't usually get a whole 9 DAYS to himself! I'm sure he will cause all sorts of mayhem ;-)

Oh and when I get back, I may just look a little different. I have a hair appt tomorrow afternoon and I am going to start going back to my natural color... blonde... instead of all this red. I love how it looks now, but it will be a little (lot) more cost-effective going the blonde route for a while. And since Olive is coming, I'm having to save my pennies a little. ;-)

Have a wonderful week! Over and out!

Crazy Dreams

Okay, I realize that having crazy dreams comes along with being preggo, but why do most of my dreams these days have to be about me losing the baby?
Last week I kept having dreams that I was passing big clots and of course I woke up in a panic and darted to the bathroom.
Last night I was walking through a grocery store and all the sudden I just started bleeding and then out dropped a tiny little baby...
I don't know about you, but these FREAK. ME. OUT.

A.LOT.

April 20th can't come soon enough. I've made myself a deal that I will try to be a little less paranoid if we hear a normal h/b again...

Where'd you go?

Mrs. Moe Joe? Where did you go? I was a faithful reader and commentor and then you just up and vanished. I hope everything is okay with you and your LO! I was just thinking about you today and wondered where, oh where, you ran off to...

Rant! Humph!

Why is it that family (if anyone from family reads this blog, please don't take this the wrong way... and please don't ever make yourself known. I don't really sensor what I write on here and since it's my blog I don't feel I should have to... It's nothing against you) think that I need (or better yet, WANT) their opinion when I make a simple comment like "I don't know that we need to spend the extra money on a changing table?" Please someone tell me!
I spent all Saturday with my MIL who once again spent the ENTIRE day telling me what I should and shouldn't do once Olive is here, what pieces of furniture I MUST have (to save the grandparents' back mind you), and how thing are generally going to go. I don't know about any BTDT, but this comes off as rude and bossy. For some reason, I thought this was Batman's and MY child we were having here... apparently I was mistaken! AAAHHH!! I thought I was going to pull my hair out! I have about had it with the woman and it only seems to be getting worse. My fear is that it is going to increase 100 fold when Olive is actually here!
Does anyone have any advice on how to not let this bother me so much? Because right now I am seriously telling Batman we need to MOVE AWAY before Olive gets here!
