She don't like cabbage

Last night I made some sauted cabbage for dinner with rice and vegetables. Batman and I are big fans and eat a lot of it over the summer when we are getting farm fresh (organic) cabbage from our farm. Last summer Little Miss seemed to have no problem eating it. She liked it even.

Last night, however, it was a big mistake. Dinner is usually hit or miss with her, as she is a grazer and snacks a bit during the day. She was doing fairly well last night, which surprised me. But then it came time to try a bite of the cabbage (she'd eaten a fair amount of just about everything else). She took one small bite (with my help) and proceeded to gag. And gag and gag. All the while saying "it yucky." I told her to simply spit it out or take it out of her mouth with her hand and place it on her tray.

At this point the entire contents of her stomach exploded all over her, her plate, and her booster tray. All of it. And she sat there smiling through it all.

Then she turns to me and says, "I not like cabbage."

We won't be making her eat cabbage for a long time. Then end.

Bawling like a baby

I've been watching reruns of that show on Lifetime, Coming Home. Have you ever seen it?

If not, here's the general run down. They take a military family that has a dad/spouse/child coming home and go over the top with a surprise homecoming. They also showcase 3 or 4 other families that have sent in their own homecoming surprises.
First off, I almost always get teary watching these things. I've been there. I remember what it was like waiting for Batman to come home from Iraq and I "get" what they're feeling. And it's the kids that get me choked up the most. Those surprises are the best!
But add on to that, crazy pregnancy hormones? And O. M. G. It's a recipe for disaster. Or rather a recipe for some pretty incredible water works. Yall? I've been weeping. Weeping. Like full on ugly cry.
And yet, I can't. Stop. Watching.
I just hope I don't give myself a headache. Be warned.

11 Things

I have always thought these things were fun! I was tagged by Andrea the other dayto participate in 11 Things.
The Rules
1. Post these rules
2. You must post 11 random things about yourself
3. Answer the questions set for you in the post you were tagged in
4. Create 11 new questions for your tagees to answer
5. Tag them on Twitter, Facebook or your blog
11 Random Things About Me

1. I'm naturally blonde, but haven't seen my actual hair color in quite some time. I didn't start dying until 12 years ago and it's been a downhill spiral ever since.

2.  I would really love to have a big family, but Batman is set on only 2. So this one will be our last baby.

3.  I have a number of phobias that I really have a hard time with. Spiders- HATE them. Can't even be in the same room as them. It makes gardening very difficult. Heights- have a hard time even being on a ladder sometimes.

4. I have body issues But don't most people?

5. I don't wear half the stuff in my closet (even pre preggo) but I refuse to get rid of it because I might wear them "someday." It's just someday never gets here. This drives Batman crazy!

6. Batman is kind of OCD on house cleaning and I'm kind of NOT. I like a clean house and all, but it's not going to ruin my day if it's a little messy. It will, however, ruin his.

7. Someday I'd really like to go back to school and get a nursing degree. Just want to wait until our kiddos are in school and I actually have TIME to do it well.
8. I have way too large a selection of pregnancy books. I was just counting and I have like 15... who needs 15 books that say the same thing? And I may or may not have bought a new one last week.

9. Just about everytime Batman goes on deployment or tdy I redo something in the house. So far I've done our bedroom, our kitchen, the guest bath, and the backyard. I'm not sure what I'd do next if he leaves again?

10. I'm a way too nervous person. I worry about things that don't really matter. And things I have no control over. I'm working on that.

11. After this baby, I fully intend to get a "mommy makeover" including a tummy tuck, boob lift, maybe a skin resurfacing, etc. Batman and I have already talked about this and, even though I know it won't happen for a few years, we plan on making it happen. Silly, but I'd really like to get rid of all the extra skin and, if possible, the stretch marks.

11 Questions from Andrea
1. Massage or facial? Definitely massage... I could totally use one right now2. The one facebook-ism that gets on your nerves (eg. cliche status updates, game requests, kissy face photos, etc). It's a toss up between posts by people I want to unfriend but can't for one reason or another and the stupid "repost if you believe..."nonsense
3. Be honest. What's your biggest insecurity? It's silly, but being in a new group of people and having to make small talk. I hate it!
4. One word to describe your life AT THIS MOMENT. Happy
5. Did you have any odd habits or preferences as a child? Nothing odder than being the world's biggest brat... seriously family friends like to make fun of me for it to this day.
6. On what side of the sink do your dishes pile up? Left side
7. What's the most embarrassing thing in your fridge right now? I don't think there's anything embarrassing right now? maybe my bread and butter pickles?
8. What websites and in what order do you visit them every morning? LOL if I had time to visit websites everyday, I would probably update my blog more often. When I do get time I usually visit gmail, FB and various blogs- although not necessarily in that order-it varies

9. Did you (or do you) have a myspace page? I did. Not proud of it ;-)
10. Would you ever sky dive? Absolutely NOT. I'm extremely afraid of heights or rather falling from them. And I've had any interest in jumping out of a perfectly good airplane
11. Post the last thing you pinned on Pinterest. not even sure how to do that... I'm terrible at pinterest even though I like pinning lol If someone can tell me how I will ;-)

Questions for those tagged:

1. If you could go anywhere in the world, where would it be?
2. Do you have a lucky number?
3. What kind of phone do you have and do you like it?
4. What color would you be in the crayola crayon box?
5. 3 words to describe yourself:
6. Post the youngest picture of yourself you can find:
7. Coffee or Tea?
8. What's the craziest thing you've ever done?
9. How's daylight savings time treating you?
10. If you could do your wedding over again (differently), would you?
11. Did you go to college and get a degree? What's for?

So if you want to play- Caryn, Lauren, Tab (if your'e still around), and Melissa (although I've LOST your new blog address and haven't been able to read in like a month! EEK!)

14 weeks

So another preggo update :)

(Taken at 14weeks, 2days in the evening- it's smaller in the AM- as you can see, one little girl really wanted to be in the picture!)

Pregnancy HighlightsHow Far Along: 14 weeks, 5 days

Size of baby: Baby #2 is about 3.4 in long (about the size of a lemon) and weighs about 1.5 oz.

Total Weight Gain/Loss: According my scale I'm up a total of 6 lbs. I think I'm just going to continue to go by this scale since I weigh myself like every other day around the same time (with nearly the same amount of clothes and "food weight" lol). I'm okay with this. I figure if I can a lb or so a week from here on out, I'll end up about +32 overall and I can live with that. Now, I just need to STICK to that LOL ;-)

Clothes: Yep- maternity pretty much all the way. I do have a few dresses that aren't maternity that fit (all are a jersey knit and are loose to begin with), but other than that, everything in my closet that I actually wear is maternity.

Gender: Only 6 more weeks until we find out! I did give Batman the option this time around (in fact, we talked about it just a couple days ago) to be surprised, but he was ADAMANT about finding out. I guess that's what happens with 2 type A parents ;-) For some reason I'm thinking it's a girl now... we'll see?

Movement: I *think* I've felt baby a couple times this week. But it could just be gas as you all know. I'm hoping to start feeling more in the next couple weeks to confirm it... movement that is- not gas!

Sleep: Sleep kinda sucks these days, but I blame our mattress. We've been needing a new one for a while and I really think it's time! I just have to convince Batman that we want to spend $1000. Tough sell right now.

What I miss: This week I was COMPLETELY jealous of my daughter getting to eat a hot dog at Costco. I know they totally gross some people out, but MAN that looked good!

Cravings: I seem to be craving more sweet stuff this time around. Normally, I can take them or leave them, so it's kind of been strange wanting to eat cookies, ice cream, cake, pie, etc all the time.
Symptoms: Ditto from week 12- Exhaustion. Still dealing with constipation and I think it's only supposed to get worse so I'm amping up my fruit intake. And less cheese. Sore boobs. Like just sitting here they hurt kind of sore. And my nips are SUPER dry even though I lather them with lotion a few times a day. A touch of m/s but it seems to be abating hooray! Still super itchy :(

Moment this week: Thinking I felt baby move! I'm 95% sure it was baby and not gas ;-)

What I'm looking forward to: More energy, looking preggo and not just fat, April 23rd!

Milestones: Fully in the 2T! And maybe baby movement?

I'm do excited! That I just can't hide it!

My little sis got engaged last night! ( and she- at the old age of 22- thought she would never find The One and would die an old maid. Silly girl!)

It's times like these that I miss living closer to my family, as they were all involved in the planning and execution of the event. Thankfully my mom was sending me the play by play by text and pics.

And so wedding plans commence! Based on past conversations with my mom I believe they are waiting a bit as said groom is deploying (he's army) in October. And my parents would really like my sister to finish school first. I don't think it's then end of the world if she doesn't as I know plenty of military wives that are currently finishing their degrees online. Plus, if they wanted batman and I to attend (since we all know its all about me anyway lol)they'd have to get married in July, which is just way too soon.

All that aside, I couldn't be more excited for them!!

Opinions please

I've started doing research already on products to help me get back into shape after this baby arrives. A bit early you say? I say, you can't be prepared enough ;-) This will most likely be our last baby (if Batman has anything to say about it... and he kinda does), so I'm looking for ANYTHING and EVERYTHING that will help me get my body back asap... or at least faster than 20 months postpartum. Here's my (short) list so far:

1. B.elly Ba.ndit. And, while I know it's not a miracle worker, it seems like it would be worth the investment. Thoughts? Anyone have one? Use one? Know someone who has? I'm intrigued and almost convinced I need one. Or is there another belly binder out there that does as great of a job that's a little less expensive?

2. A treadmill. We currently have an elliptical, which is okay. But I think I just might make my husband the happiest man alive if I conceded and told him to get a treadmill and we'd get rid of the elliptical. Only problem is I HATE (really, HATE) running. And I don't mind the elliptical so much.

3. Fitmama postnatal workout DVD. I just ordered the pregnancy DVD by her. I haven't tried it yet (obviously since I just ordered it yesterday), but I was encouraged by all the great reviews. Anyone try any of her workouts before? Or mabye there are better ones out there? Any all and suggestions welcome!

4. P90x... 1 or 2? Once I'm feeling up to harder/ more intense workouts , I figured I'd go back to p90. I had great results when I finally stuck to it last summer and lost nearly 30 lbs in 3 months. By that time we will probably have p90X2 since Batman has been chomping at the bit to buy it since it came out in December.

5. So far that's all I've come up with... any other things that you can think of? Tell me!

Mornings with my girl

I can't get enough of sweet mornings with B. I know all too soon she's going to have to share the attention. Which makes me both sad and excited.

This morning we treated ourselves to mcd's for breakfast while batman sleeps. (he works crazy shifts the next few days for an ORE weekend.)

I just live this girl!!

Blah blah! Drama blah!

Apparently I can't go through a pregnancy without some drama. Been having spotting on and off this morning.
I do have a sub chorionic hematoma so that's likely what's going on, but I will admit I've had a couple freak out sessions already. And I've talked to my ob office.
And of course I'm supposed to take it easy. And pelvic rest for the next few days.
Now I'm just praying this nonsense finishes its business so I can move on and not have another anxiety attack.
