A Brynna Update

Now that she's 2.5, I figure I'm due for a Brynna update! I don't think I've done one of these since she turned 2, so it's about time, right?

So here's what's up with her:

She's currently 33.5 in tall and weighs 27 lbs (10% and 25% respectively) She's still in 2T in just about everything. We can get away with 18 mo dresses if we put some leggings underneath, which we do a lot for church. She's still in size 4 dipes when we just disposables.

And along that line, potty training is going nowhere. I *think* she'll be ready in a couple months as she has started now taking off her diaper almost anytime she is wet. Poo is still a mystery to me. She can sit in a poopy diaper indefinitely if I didn't smell it first. I'm hoping as the weather starts to get warmer, we can be outside more and I can just let her run around naked in the yard.

She's such her own little person now! She's got quite the personality which people comment on all the time- usually with the word "firecracker." I'm not sure if that's supposed to be good or bad? LOL

She's definitely a 2 yr old, with full on whining and tantrums when she is frustrated or doesn't get her way. We've really been trying to curb these when we can, but I think it's just part of being 2 (or so people tell me).

Her favorite thing is to sing! Which means she does it all day long ;-) Anytime we are in the car she instists on "her songs" so she can sing- we have a CD that she got for Christmas that has lots of kid songs like "If You're Happy and You Know It," "B-I-N-G-O," "Oh Susannah," and "Campdown Races." I hardly ever get to listen to my country station anymore :( It's okay though. I'll take it to hear her sweet voice chiming in on the "doo dahs" ;-) Her favorite songs by far (although not on her CD) are "Twinkle Twinkle," "Jesus Loves Me," and "ABC's."

She LOVES to talk. Or maybe she's just a girl? LOL She is a non stop stream of words from the time she gets up, until the time she sleeps. Which includes her talking herself to sleep! Tell my why I was ever worried about her vocabulary? I was crazy! As I said above. She's her own person and speaks pretty clearly (aka- most people can understand most of what she's saying) although we do have to clarify on occasion.

She knows most of her letters by sight, but we are still working on number recognition. She can count to 13, but needs a little help getting to 20. She loves to count things though so I think I just need to up the amount lol.

Her favorite day of the week is Wednesday, which library day. One of the local libraries does a "music and movement" class where they sing and dance and read stories and at the end they hand out blocks and bubbles for free play. We were meeting a friend there every week, but he's now in preschool. She LOVES it though and looks forward to it!

She LOVES her daddy :) Every night when he comes home she gets a big grin on her face when he walks in the door and (usually) gives him a big hug. Then follows him around until he locks her out of the bathroom. And usually bangs on the door until he gets out ;-)

Speaking of locking her out, she has long since figured out how to open all the doors in the house except the front and back door (thank goodness!). Unfortunately this means that if she wakes up in the middle of the night she opens and shuts her door until we come and see what she needs. It's lovely.

And that's all I can think of... I'll do a picture dump in the next post if I can figure out how to do a collage ;-)

Noah's the same way with poop. He can have the most DISGUSTING diaper and it does not bother him at all. He could be completely pee-trained (with no accidents), but he won't poop on the potty. So I'm really not sure when he will be potty trained! I am starting to wish for it though, because I am so sick of spraying off his disgusting poopy diapers.
