Okay, I need some opinions before I go off on my crazy rant later today...
Do any of YOU thinks it's crazy for me to drive to Seattle this weekend without Batman (Kino's coming)? Does being 27 weeks pregnant all of the sudden make me completely incompetent and unsafe on the road? Is it inevitable that Murphy will strike and I will be stranded, alone, in the small, 30 mile, lone stretch of no cell phone service?
Please tell me... Am I a dipsh*t for doing this?

My husband has already restricted alone travel at our house. I don't like it but I guess its better to be safe than sorry. He gets very antsy if I start talking about anything over an hour away. I am going to a wedding this weekend that is about 1 hour and 20 minutes away and I know he will worry every minute I am gone...but not enough to come with me..hmph.
I would say if you both feel comfortable do it. If hubby doesn't then be prepared for lots of phone calls.
I think that it's fine if you put some guards in place. Like, if you don't call by this time...then he should come looking for you...
Or, is there another route to take that has better cell service, but maybe just a bit longer?
How long does that make your trip? If it's more than a few hours one-way I'd say I'd forgo the traveling alone. Only for safety sake.
I feel your pain though. My DH is pretty uptight about me traveling alone now. And even though I know I am fully competent and capable I also know he's right to worry because anything could happen. But it sure doesn't frustrate me any less.
Hope you can come up with a compromise that you're happy with.
If it's more than a few hours one-way, then I'd probably look around for a travel buddy just to play it safe. Overall, I think you'd be okay. Just make sure to stop frequently to walk around, use the bathroom and stay hydrated!
I think you'll be FINE! You're not incompetent.
How far away is it? And how much of the road travelled really is quiet "dead" areas with nothing around?
Personally - I'd still go - but I like to do things when people tell me I shouldn't - it's always been a downfall of mine!
Good luck! You'll be fine!
If it's more than like 4 or 5 hours I'd be careful. I did an almost 3 hour drive a few weeks ago and was fine but it was all along the interstate and nothing was too remote.
Depends how far away it is. I wouldnt drive more than 2 hours 1 way. I would think if you have cell phone service you'd be fine. Plus I'd like to have a hospital on the way, just in case.
If it's like 8-10 hours, maybe not. But if it's a shorter day trip you should be fine!!!! That's my opinion though ...
How long is the trip? Is it an empty road or a pretty busy highway? Do you get good cell coverage in the area?
I'm positive you will be just fine. But in case Murphy rears his ugly head, I'll email you my phone number and tell you my back up plan.
